North Central Legacy Study Wins CIP Award

Office for Urbanism and The City Regina won the Canadian Institute of Planners 2009 Award for Planning Excellence in the category of Planning for and Development of Aboriginal Communities for the North Central Legacy Study.

The North Central Community Legacy Study was conducted as a preliminary planning assessment of the North Central neighbourhood in Regina, Saskatchewan, in preparation for a future neighbourhood plan. This assessment was particularly relevant as a basis for upcoming decisions to be made on a major multi-million dollar development within this neighbourhood - the North Central Shared Facility, which would dramatically transform the neighbourhood by directing major active community uses to one central location.
