Office for Urbanism managed the Absolute International Design Competition calling for a landmark residential tower in Mississauga, Ontario. The two-phased competition received world-wide attention with 620 registrations and 92 submissions from 72 countries. A 9 member jury composed of architects, planners, and developers evaluated each submission — finally deciding on a single design now set to break ground.
The near manic-success of the competition is a reflection of Office for Urbanism’s leadership and communication skills, which were critical to the integration of media, marketing and sales teams, architects, and the client into an efficient working entity. Office for Urbanism developed the project brief, analyzed the city’s design guidelines, managed registrants, compiled the jury panel, organized press conferences and facilitated the selection process.
