Bloor Street Visioning Study

Recently the City of Toronto Community Planning and a consulting team led by Office for Urbanism undertook a Visioning Study of Bloor Street West between Avenue Road and Bathurst Street. The purpose of the study is to establish a vision, urban design principles and a series of implementation tools such as guidelines that will assist the City to manage and direct growth in the area. These guidelines address community improvements including streetscape, transportation improvements relating to pedestrian, bicycle and vehicular movement and recommendations for parks and open space.

The Study Area includes Bloor Street West from Avenue Road to Bathurst Street and comprises the right-of-way and properties fronting on the right-of-way. Important to the study will be consideration of an "Area of Influence" surrounding the study area. The "Area of Influence" is crucial to the role, function and successes of Bloor Street.
