Through collaboration with SAI Architects Toronto and the Chinese Planning Institute, Office for Urbanism proposed a master plan for a design competition calling for the regeneration of 8km2 industrial brownfield site within the portlands of Dalian, China.
Inscribed in a landscape of piers, shipyards, and canals, the master plan celebrates a unique port heritage. As a revitalized city, Dalian will host thousands of new inhabitants, living and working in a rejuvenated landscape. High-tech industry and commercial centres will reflect the advancements that can identify Dalian as a commercial centre in Northern China and the global stage.
