Daxing New Town Master Plan Competition

Working closely with Goldsmith Borgal Architects and the Chinese Planning Institute, OfficeforUrbanism has developed a Master Plan concept as an invited competition entry for Daxing New Town - a southern district of Beijing, China.

With a projected population of 350,000 by 2020 (a 35% increase), our Daxing scheme will employ environmentaly sustainable principles through onsite ecological water treatment, renewable power generation, an increase in public green-spaces and a transit loop corridor sustained by high-density, mixed use corridors.

With the study area being 12 km2 the project is focused around a multi-nodal framework that establishes 4 Town centres and a new City Centre which will incorporate future programs such as a university, public arts facilities, high-end retail, and an entertainment district.
