Halifax Regional Municipality Urban Design Study

Office for Urbanism has been retained by the Halifax Regional Municipality to develop comprehensive urban design guidelines that will both enhance the urban environment and raise public awareness through an extensive consultation process. The public consultation process is implementation-oriented and includes stakeholder interviews, forums, workshops and public events.

As the Halifax Regional Municipality continues to grow, this study establishes an approach to growth that will guide development to complement the unique character and heritage of Halifax-Dartmouth, respecting both the significance of Citadel Hill and the strong relationship between the City and Halifax Harbour.
