Office for Urbanism was retained by Craft Development Corporation to assist in the preparation of an urban design study, as part of a re-zoning application for a commercial development in the Town of Georgina. The subject property is located at the northwest corner of Woodbine Avenue and Glenwoods Avenue in the community of Keswick.
The Urban Design Report was prepared as an accompanying document to the re-zoning application. It set forth the urban design concept for a retail development on Woodbine Avenue, and evaluated how the proposal met the objectives of the Keswick Urban Design Guidelines for this area. Furthermore, the report positioned the design of the development in the context of an evolving urban corridor. The plan served to accommodate the future intensification of the site while ensuring the legacy of an enhanced public realm is retained for a future mixed use community The Report was prepared for the use of the Town, to assist in the assessment of the re-zoning application.
