Office for Urbanism, as project lead and in association with FoTenn Consultants Inc., iTRANS Consultants Inc., and Macaulay Shiomi Howson Ltd., is currently managing a complex and multidisciplinary review of Mississauga's Official Plan.
The review is intended to ensure conformity with Provincial, Regional and Municipal initiatives, aligning previous and ongoing studies with current thinking and new strategies. It also affords the opportunity to address significant emerging issues; key among which are: (i) the principles of sustainability (ii) directing growth in a manner that results in a built form which enhances public health and, (iii) the benefits of a compact urban form and greater modal choices.
This is a tremendous opportunity to assess, inform and inspire - to present a powerful long-term vision with the potential to transform Mississauga as it transitions from a greenfield community to one which will be focused on intensification and redevelopment.
