Gail Shillingford

Gail Shillingford has a strong background in landscape architecture and urban design, a combination that provides her with a broad understanding and working knowledge of open space systems and has enriched her expertise in the design of significant urban environments. Gail studied in Toronto and Alberta, and provides professional expertise to clients in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. Her experiences vary in the areas of urban, residential and environmental design, which have allowed her to sharpen her skills in all aspects of project management and development, master planning and community design and consultation, site analysis, detailed design, and graphic design presentation.
While at Urban Strategies, Gail worked on the revitalization of the Thornhill Yonge Street Corridor for the municipalities of Markham and Vaughan, Ontario and development scenarios for an 8 acre vacand site for the Wanita Road Public School in Toronto. Gail played a significant role as senior designer on several recent award-winning projects: the Campus Master Plan for Brock University, St. Catherines, Ontario; the Open Space Master Plan for the University of Toronto; the National Park Master Plan for the island of Barbados; and the Physical Development Plan for Barbados.
Gail has worked with non-profit organizations such as Evergreen, revitalizing the Don Valley Bricks Works as an environmentally friendly garden and landscape services centre while also providing opportunities for community building and employment for youth-at-risk.

Paul Mulé

Senior Planner
Paul is an experienced planner and urban designer with over 10 years of physical planning and urban design projects in Canada, Spain, the Middle East, and Panama, and has a wealth of experience in integrating physical planning with invigorating "on the ground" planning and design solutions. Paul's approach is holistic working within the social, cultural, economic, and physical aspects in the planning and design of urban environments.
Paul has shepherded urban design and planning on a variety of multifaceted and complex projects. He played a significant role on award-winning projects, including the City of Amman Growth Plan, The City of Amman Zoning Bylaw and Urban Design Guidelines, and The Haro Master Plan and Eco-Development Strategy in Northern Spain. Paul brings a diversity of experience incorporating progressive planning and urban design elements on a number of physical planning, master plans, and downtown revitalization projects and has integrated progressive eco-development design treatments into a number of plans. More recently, he worked on several key projects, including the City of Calgary East Employment Lands Strategy, the City of Medicine Hat Municipal Development Plan, and an Urban Upgrading Plan in Panama.

Danbi Lee

Urban Planner
Danbi is an Honours graduate of the University of Guelph's Environmental Sciences program, specializing in Natural Resources Management and Plant Biology. Her specializations allowed her to examine land use issues from an environmental, social, urban, and rural perspective. Danbi's varying experiences across a spectrum of industries allowed her to develop an exceptional skill set for urban planning research and practice.
Prior to joining OU, Danbi gained professional experience in urban planning through working for the City of Toronto and the Regional Municipality of Halifax where she gained extensive experience in public consultation methods and facilitation. In Halifax, she was involved with OU's HRM by DESIGN project where she managed the organization of public forums and conducted policy research assignments.
Danbi's strengths lie in the development of plans that value local knowledge as indicators of urban systems, and good design as the foundation of effective communication.

Gil Meslin
B.U.R.Pl, MSc
Urban Planner
Gil is a graduate of the Cities Programme at the London School of Economics, where he studied urban design and urban sociology, and an honours graduate of the Ryerson University School of Urban and Regional Planning. Gil brings a multidisciplinary skill set, and a passion for urban issues to Office for Urbanism.
Gil has been involved in a variety of work at OU, including consultation, visioning, workshops, policy planning, and development applications. Gil's experience at OU has included playing an important role on a large-scale community engagement strategy for the City of Mississauga, during which ideas and a vision were developed for an updated Strategic Plan. Currently, Gil is involved in work ranging from Official Plan development to private sector planning analyses.

Sébastien Dausse

Sébastien's professional experience and interests have focused on urban intensification, mixed-use and residential development, port cities and port land revitalization, Social housing neighbourhood revitalization, Campus Master Plans, and Sustainable developments.
Prior to join Office For Urbanism, Sébastien gained both international and canadian experience working at planningAlliance and architectsAlliance on a variety of Urban Planning, Urban Design and Architectural projects. It includes the Greater Amman Metropolitan Growth and Strategic Urban Plans, the Airport Corridor Intensification in Amman, Jordan; the Province's Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe; A waterfront-lagoon Resort in Long Island, Bahamas, the Neyayesh Hotel Complex in Tehran, Iran. Intensification plans in various cities and campuses within the Grand Toronto Area, Ontario, Quebec and Alberta.
Sébastien's training in civil engineering and architecture allows him to contribute to projects in a wide variety of ways, as does his ability to speak both French and English. He received his B Sc Civil Engineering from Nantes University of Technology in France in 1998 and his Masters of Architecture, with Honours, from the school of Architecture of Nantes, in 2005.
